Misdirect: The Nick Nemeroff Comedy Grant is a grant administered by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television that aims to support emerging Canadian stand-up comedians who work within the tradition of the late Nick Nemeroff.
Overview
This program will award a grant of $10,000.00 CAD to a deserving comedian to be used for their next television special, album, or related comedy initiative. In addition to the financial grant, the winning comedian will receive an Academy membership and be considered for participation in Academy-related events.

Eligibility Guidelines
Applicant Restrictions
- Applicants may submit only one application per intake period.
- Applicants must be 19 years of age or older.
- All eligible applicants are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to those who express a need for financial assistance and/or applicants who do not currently have a television special.
Performer - Requirements
The entered material must be created and performed by a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.
Release Requirements
Comedy projects must be released to the public in accordance with the Offer of Funding agreement signed with the selected grant recipient.
Production Timelines
Applicants are advised to submit applications with production dates occurring sometime in 2024. The tentative release date for the project granted should be in 2024.
